With Wim Opbrouck as its figurehead
From 1 May to 10 May 2020 the city of Ghent will be dominated by the Floraliën. For 10 days, the iconic location – Floraliënhal in the Citadelpark – will form the backdrop to the most beautiful creations by top Belgian and international florists, horticulturalists, garden architects and artists.
To illustrate the new, fresh approach of the next edition of the Floraliën, we called on Wim Opbrouck. He fell head over heels in love with Ghent, and has clearly made a lasting impact on life in our city in the past.
And that love for Ghent also characterises the campaign visual of the theme ‘My paradise, my worldly garden’.
From nature to culture, biodiversity, greenery in the city and climate change are the four main cornerstones of Floraliën 2020.
The 36th edition of the Floraliën will once again be held in familiar buildings: ICC, Floraliënhal and het Kuipke. Citadelpark is Ghent’s largest park and the city’s lungs. Here you can discover which symbolic meaning plants and flowers have had for years. You can use all your senses to (re)discover plants and flowers in various green and concept rooms.
